Getting the best vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To get the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First, have your family agree to dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Ocean Lakes - Site 1709 Spacious 5BR\/4.5BA on Stilts! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is right for your trip.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
