Finding the best rental home experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose and book the bestvacation home:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 3br Lockoff Condo Myrtle Beach Family Fun! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.

During your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
