Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation rental:
- To start, have your group agree to vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean Lakes 2-Bedroom Getaway has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your contract.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
