Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose the best vacation rental:
- Start by having your group commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Direct ocean front property featuring 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms that sleeps 8 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
