Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- To book the best rental home within budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Direct ocean front property featuring 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms that sleeps 8 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
