Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Find your best deal:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the best vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Direct ocean front property featuring 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms that sleeps 8 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
