Strategies to get the very best vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have deals for local shops and restaurants.
Filter your search:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. OCEAN LAKES 3B\/2BA ON STILTS W\/ GOLF CART & WIFI has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
