Getting the best rental experience:
Finding your best deal:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and picking your prefectrental home:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Ocean Lakes Beach Cottage N-114 on Lake Near Store & Waterpark has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
