How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To get the largest rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Ocean Lakes 1068 Wish Upon A Starfish Custom 5 bdrm\/3.5 bath, Steps to the ocean has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
