Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beautiful Oceanfront B4 (5br\/3ba) in Oceanlakes has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
