Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. *20% Off All New Stays Thru February* has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. Otherwise, email the host before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
