Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. *Fall for Savings-20% Off All New Stays Thru 2024* has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
