How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Choosing the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Beautifully Renovated 1 BR with Immaculate Views! Sand Dunes 2926 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
