Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean Lakes Site 1803 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
