Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- To find the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing the rightrental home:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean View Condo in the Dunes and Golden Mile area. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your trip.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
