Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean View Condo in the Dunes and Golden Mile area. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If they are not listed, call the host before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
