Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean View Condo in the Dunes and Golden Mile area. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
