Booking the best vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
How to select the best vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your family select a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean Lakes Turtle Beach Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
