Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean Lakes Turtle Beach Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
