Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. ?? 2-Story Beach Condo ??: 2 Pools, Hot Tub, Beach & Golf! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
