How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- To start, have your family commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. OCEAN, OCEAN EVERYWHERE Direct oceanfront 16th floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
