Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. New Listing - Oceanfront 2\/2 w\/ Huge Balcony - by Luxury Beach Rentals! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
