Strategies to get the best vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean View - Marriott's OceanWatch Villas - Upscale Resort Villa On The Beach! Spacious! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If not, email or call the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
