Tricks and tips to get the best rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and choose yourvacation home:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Heavenly Ocean Front Views
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
