Vacation rental home tips:
Find your perfect rental:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Ocean View 2 Bedroom at Exciting Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your group.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
