Tips and Tricks for getting the best rental home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean View 2 Bedroom Condo- Sleeps 6! Palace 1407 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
