Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:
Finding the best rental home value:
- To find the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Finding the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Ocean view steps from beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
