Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean View Studio King Suite Boardwalk Resort Unit 540 Sleeps 2 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Know before you go:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
