Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront - Gourmet Kitchen! Farmhouse Decor! Gorgeous View! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
