How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront - Private Balcony - Lazy River - Hot tubs - Heated Pools - Kitchen has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If not, email or call the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is right for your group.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

During your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
