Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and choosing your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanfront 1 Bedroom Condo w\/ Gorgeous View + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is suitable for your trip.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
