How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront 1 Bedroom Condo w\/ Gorgeous View + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If not, email or call the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
