Booking the best rental home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the largest vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanfront 14th floor 3BR @ Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
