Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront 14th floor 3BR @ Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, call the host before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
