Finding the best vacation property experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing the perfect rental:

  • Start by having your group decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Luxury Oceanfront 3 Bedroom at Sandy Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your family.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
