Tips to get the best vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your family choose vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Luxury Oceanfront 3 Bedroom at Sandy Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
