Tricks and tips to get the very best rental experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- To get the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and choose the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront 2 Bedroom Condo in Gated Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
