How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. B228 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Tranquil Coastal Escape has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
