Strategies to get the very best vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront 6th Floor- A Must See Remodel 2021! Farmhouse Decor + Beach Locker! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
