Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Oceanfront 6th Floor- A Must See Remodel! Farmhouse Decor + Beach Locker! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
