Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing the rightrental home:
- Select vacation week and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront 6th floor studio @ Myrtle Beach Resort has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation family.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
