Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Book your rental home in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for local shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and pick your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Winter Rates! Tranquil 1BrSuite Oceanfront Retreat has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Know before you go:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
