Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:
Finding the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfectvacation home:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Winter Rates! Tranquil 1BrSuite Oceanfront Retreat has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
