Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Condo @ Sands Beach Club on Shore-Dr has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
