Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Condo @ Sands Beach Club on Shore-Dr has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. text the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
