Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanfront Condo w\/ 2 pools, amazing views - immediate access to the beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is best for your group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
