Getting the best vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanfront condo with W\/D, pool, hot tub, & central AC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
