Booking the best vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and choosing the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront King Suite In Myrtle Beach Resort has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More considerations:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
