Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 7th-floor partial ocean-view snowbird-friendly condo with pool & hot tub has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
