Tricks and tips to get the very best rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Enjoy the comfort of this amazing place has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Advice for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
