How to book the best vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront 3 Bedroom Condo 8th Floor Must See has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
