Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation home:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanfront New Listing! Convenient to Beach & Pool, Beachy Decor, Newly Updated! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If not, contact the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
