Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, picking, and booking yourrental:
- To start, have your group agree to trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanfront Penthouse Suite - Prince Resort has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
