Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Spacious Corner 4 Balconies Quiet and Family Friendly has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
