Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Choosing the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sunset Villa at Myrtlewood Golf Course has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your agreement.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
