Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:

Get the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront studio full kitchen oceanfront balcony has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, call the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
