Strategies to get the very best rental home experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 1st Floor Bliss: Oceanview Room Sleeps 4 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If not, contact the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
