Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Choosing and booking the perfectvacation home:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront Studio Next to The Skywheel~ Holiday Pavilion Condominium Tower, Unit 405 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
