Rental booking tips:
Get the most from your budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best rental home within budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and choosing a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Recently Renovated Oceanfront Studio - Sand Dunes 2434: The Perfect Getaway for Two! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
