Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing the best rental:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Monterey Bay 1BR - Direct Oceanfront - Pools, NEW! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before you book the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
