Strategies for getting the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the largest rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing the rightrental:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Studio Suite~Caravelle Resort 1513 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your stay:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
