Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Studio Suite~Caravelle Resort 1513 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
