Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your group commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. OCEANFRONT SUMMER SPECIALS SLEEPS 6 TO 7, HEATED IN-DOOR POOLS, CLOSE TO IT ALL has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Advice for a great stay:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
